Seaside Hideaway Scarborough - Dog Friendly Stay

The Yorkshire Coast has become a firm favourite of ours, especially at this time of year when the beaches are dog friendly and quiet and the winter sun provides some stunning and dramatic sun rises over the sea.
We recently stayed at Seaside Hideaway, an apartment bursting with character on the south side of Scarborough and just a 15 minute walk from the beach.

The colourful and quirky decor fits with the seaside location of this apartment perfectly and you can't help but feel a sense of joy as soon as you step through the door! From the local beach hut print and ukulele's on the wall to the jug of fresh flowers, the hosts, Sarah and Jim have created a unique and welcoming space. The apartment is equipped with everything you could ever need. The kitchen area includes a dishwasher, small fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, toaster, freestanding counter top over, microwave and 2 ring induction hob as well as all crockery, utensils, pans etc.

The spacious bedroom hosts a king sized bed, television, hairdryer and dressing table as well as double and single sofa beds. All linen, towels and toiletries are provided as well as toweling dressing gowns - something we were super grateful for when getting in and out of the hot tub! There really is nothing you need to remember to bring, other than yourselves!

French doors open from the dining area onto a secure and enclosed courtyard complete with wood fired hot tub overlooking a beautiful green space (perfect for doggos!) All wood for the hot tub is provided for the duration of your stay free of charge.

Sarah and Jim are the most thoughtful of hosts who really went that extra mile to make our stay memorable from start to finish. We arrived to twinkling fairy lights bordering the length of the courtyard and the woodfired hot tub roaring and ready to be stepped straight into, allowing us more precious hours to enjoy it. A simple gesture that was so appreciated (I'm impatient and was beyond thankful I didn't have to wait 2/3 hours for it to heat up after the long drive!) Yes, it was as dreamy as it looks! Is there anything better than a super cold winters evening and a hot tub?!

We were also treated to a stunning hamper bursting with high quality, local goodies as well as milk and prosecco chilling in the fridge. Seaside Hideaway also spoil their four legged guests leaving bowels, treats, poop bags and a ball for Murphy. These extras were so unexpected but really added such a personal and luxurious touch to our stay making it truly special and memorable.

Being just a 15 minute walk from the beach and shops, you're close enough to enjoy all that Scarborough has to offer whilst benefiting from the quiet of a residential street and ample free parking. Having a dog themselves, Sarah and Jim are more than happy to recommend local walking routes and dog friendly places to eat and drink should you wish (of which there are many, Scarborough is super dog friendly!)
We visited Taylors Bar & Kitchen for breakfast and I can seriously recommend the breakfast wrap to set you up for the entire day (it was huge!)

As well as enjoying the local beaches, this time round we decided to explore a bit further afield and travelled into the Moors visiting Levisham Moor and the Hole or Horcum. The 5 mile circular route we followed was straight forward and a nice, none challenging route taking in natural wonders and ancient monuments. The large walk in shower was perfect for cleaning a muddy Murphy up once we arrived back.

We thoroughly loved our stay with Seaside Hideaway and couldn't have felt more welcome and at home.

Thank you for truly spoiling us and for such a wonderful few days.
